3 JUDGE BECHHOEFFER:
Good morning, ladies 4
and gentlemen.
3 5-We are here today for the sole purpose of N.-j 6
taking any:further limited appearance statements that R
'7 people wish to'give'.
A j
8 I would inquire whether any individuals here d
9 wish to present statements?
2o 10 Okay.
3 j
11 Well, normally, limited appearance statements m
(
12 are limited to five minutes.
Given the overwhelming,
=
13 huge crowd we may not hold to that precisely.
=
5" I4 l Limited appearance statements are not i
Ej 15 evidence as such; but the Board takes into account the
=
g 16 matters raised and if there are particular issues which i
as g"
17 '
will need exploration., we will ask the parties to E
3 18 follow-up on that.
c I9 l i-j So, in any order you please, why don't you l

comc on up here to the witness stand by the microphone; 21 and, please, give the reporter your name and address.

My name is Vim X.
Rye.
I have been a resident a f:
2 of Bay City for 25 years.
I am,in the retail jewelry 3
business, and, also, have a Hallmark Card Shop.
I don't 4
have a specific statement to make this morning, except g
5 that I been involved in civic affairs in Bay. City for 0
3 6
25 years and currently serve in several capacities in R
- E 7
Bay City.
And, I just want to say that from a A
I j
8 personal standpoint, no grudge involved or anything, that Q0 9
E, I,
personally, am much in favor of this.
6 10 I have little or no opposition in Bay City g
=
5 II to this project, except for the fact that we'd just like m
"f 12 to get on with it.
="
j I3 We feel like it is very needed here, and we 3
14 i aren't a damn bit worried about it.
But, we just think u
9 15 g
we ought to get off-the-stick and get started.
Or.
g-16 l

Just keep going.

That's all I've got to say.
Thank you.

And, that is to say I have been living here 3
in Bay City for 15 years.
And, I feel this.is a fine 4
community.
g 5
And,-personally, I support the project 9
i j
6l 100 percent.
I think it is a fine thing.
Something, R
d 7
as Mr. Rye just said, something we certainly need.
M 8
And, I feel that the majority, or most.of'the people that d
y 9
I have talked to -- everybody feels the same as I do, E
10 that it is a very important thing for this community.
E Il Not only for this community, but for the surrounding 3

For the State of Texas, I think this nuclear 4

1 Everything and everyone I talk to in Bay City, 2
there's very few that seem to be against it.
Most people 3

They all seem to have the same feelings about.

They are not really worried about the nuclear G

What they are concerned about sj 8
is all of the publicity it is getting --

And, they'd like to see that 3
