Docket Nos. 50-443 and 50-444 Gentlemen:
In accordance with the Appeal Board's " Memorandum and Order" of November 6, 1980, the NRC St.eff is filing its rebuttal testimony to the " Statement of Dr. Michael Chinnery On Remand... Submitted By The New England Coalition On Nuclear Pollution," which " Statement" was served on February 16, 1981.
Secondly, as to the three questions posed by board witness Dr. Trifunac concerning Dr. Chinnery's methodology, at tne request of Dr. Trifunac and with the consent of all parties, an informal conference call was held on March 10,1981 with Dr. Trifunac, Dr. Leon Reiter, and Dr. Chinnery parti-cipa ting.
Dr. Trifunac had reouested the earliest possible response to his questions in order to permit him to file his testimony by March 23, 1981.
The undersigned Staff counsel convened the conference call and before tenninating his participation in the call, requested that Dr. Chinnery confirm his responses to the questions in writing by letter.
That letter is attached hereto.
