Thank you for your letter of invitation to the 1901 Workshop and I accept with pleasure and anticipation of the Workshop's activities. As Director of the Systems and Reliability Research Division, Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research, I have a keen interest in risk assessment and would be open to assignment to that task group.
In addition, I would be willing to give a tutorial on probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) including its origins, the WASH-1400 methodology and organizational implications for safety, the Interim Reliability Evaluation Program and the role of human error analysis in PRA.
