Gentlemen:

Reference (a) forwarded CEN-lh5, PORV Failure Reduction Methods. This report requires correction.

On page 8, the total nunber of MSSV demands is incorrectly reported to be 5650. The actual number is h650 demands (the sum of 2070_ MSSV test demands and 2580 operational demands). This also changes the failure rate from 1.2hx10-3 to 1.5x10-3 per demand.

The conclusion of the report, that the failure rate is lover than the value of 2x10-2 per demand estimated in NUREG-0560, remains valid.
