j 980//4 MR BEVILL:
How are resources allocated between operating reactors and new licenses?
CHAIRMAN CARR:
NRC specifically allocates resources between multiple areas which includes operating reactors and new licenses.
Resource allocation for operating reactors is primarily in the areas of reactor inspection and licensing amendment activity.
Effort related to new licenses is directed toward standard plants and plant-life-extension review activities.
If a split were to be made dividing the total NRR budget into these two categories, one would be Reactor Licensing Application Reviews and Inspections with 123 FTE and $4.6 million in program support and the other category would deal with Operating Reactors with 1,380 FTE and $29.2 million in program support.
