ZIMMER NUCLEAR POWER STATION - UNIT 1 REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF JUNE 10, 1983, FOR QA PROGRAM REVISION W.O.
57300, JOB E-5590, FILE NO. 956C, The Order to Show Cause and Order Immediately Suspending Construction (CLI-82-83) of the Commissioners, dated November 12, 1982, the subsequent management review being performed by Torrey Pines Technology, and the appointment of Mr. Joe Williams, Jr. as Senior Vice President for Nuclear Operations on April 21, 1983, have introduced changes to the organization and may possibly change commitments in our most recent submittal of Chapter 17.1 of the FSAR.
These changes are still in progress and may not be complete for several months.
We will, therefore, be unable to meet the requirements of 10CFR50.55 (f) (2) to have a current QA Program in the FSAR by June 10, 1983, or meet the requirements of 10CFR50.55 (f) (3) to submit changes that do not reduce commitments within 90 days.
The Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company is requesting additional time for submitting current program changes and will provide you with a revision to the FSAR Chapter 17.1 within sixty (60) days of Region III's approval of the recommended plan resulting from the Torrey Pine Technology's management review.
