Engineer-Licensing, telephoned Mr. R. Lerch of NRC Region III to provide additional information.regarding 10CFR50.55(e) Item 129, " Lack of Design Calculations for HVAC. Duct. Supports."
Item 129 was originally reported in Reference (2).
h Reference (2) reported that detailed design calculations.for HVAC system ductwork and supports could not be-located. -At

least one of the HVAC support designs examined was not rigid and,ntherefore, did not meet the rigid support assumption used in the ductwork seismic analysis.
To resolve this issue, Detroit Edison committed to reanalyze the affected safety related HVAC ductwork supports.
As part of this reanalysis, a sample of the ~HVAC supports was inspected to verify the as built drawings.
Some of the hanger attachment points were found to be noticeably off the center of the base plates.
An analysis of the impact of the off center. attachment is being performed.
The results of this analysis'will be. included in Detroit Edison's final report of Item 129.
