April 2, 1986 CHAIRMAN Mr. Carl Walske, President Atomic Industrial Forum, Inc.
x 7101 Wisconsin Avenue
\\
Bethesda, MD 20814-4805
Dear Mr. Walske:
I have received your letter dated March 20, 1986 which enclosed the AIF position paper on standardization and proposed a Commission meeting with your organization.
Your interest and involvement in this significant issue is most welcome and appreciated.
Due to the major role a standardization policy will have on the future of the nuclear industry in this country, your continued involvement is greatly encouraged.
As you know the Commission is presently deliberating on a draft standardization policy statement.
In this process the Commission will consider your comments.
When the Commission has clarified its own thinking we will want to receive further views of the Atomic Industrial Forum and any other interested parties.
At that time, in the not too distant future, the Commission will contact the AIF to determine a mutually acceptable date for a Commission meeting on this subject.
Once again, your involvement in the standardization policy is appreciated and encouraged.
Sincerely,
((
