This refers to the telephone conversation between yourself and Ms. Colleen Casey of my staff on November 11,1997 and your follow-up letter dated November 12,1997, notifying our office of the movement of two generally licensed gauges by personnel not specifically licensed to do so, i
After reviewing this incident, the NRC has determined that a violation of NRC requirements occurred. This violation is cited in the enclosed Notice of Violation (Notice). A writter' ssponse is required.
t Although there was no overexposure to radiation as a result of this incident, the violation demonstrates the importance of maintaining adequate control of all radioactive material to ensure that improper handling does not occur. We caution you that any similar violations in the future may result in additional enforcement action, including the imposition of monetary penalties and/or orders suspending, revoking or modifying your license.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter, the enclosure at.d your response to this letter will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR). To the extent possible, your response should iot include any personal privacy, i
proprietary, or safeguards information so that it can be placed in the PDR without redaction.
