Through Reference (a) Commonwealth Edison (Comed) submitted the fire lion Station Fire Protection Report. Following submittal of reference (a) various aspects of the program have been updated and addressed through correspondence to and from the NRC.

The most recent of these updates was transmitted via Reference (b) as Amendment 4 to the Fire Protection Report. The purpose of this letter is to provide the Amendment 5 update to the Fire Protection Report (FPR).

a.

Changes to the Safe Shutdown Report, Volume 1, and the Fir-Ilazards Analysis, Volume 2, to reDect plant changes.

b.

The Fire llazards Analysis, Volume 2, has been revised to correct a de6ciency identined by an internal QA Audit of Dre protection. The audit found that she FPR did not identify Dre suppression systems that are required to be controlled by the Sre protection Administrative Technical Requirements c.

NRC SERs in Volume 3 are being updated to include missing pages.

d.

Corrections and clari6 cations have been made to various sections.

Attachment B contains the replacement pages, revised index, and an instruction sheet for inserting Amendment 5 into the FPR.
