DEFUELING WORKER INJURY At 8:55 PM on August 19, 1986 a worker on the Unit 2 defueling platform was injured. A long-handled tool in the reactor vessel was dislodged from its temporary storage location and fell onto the wurker's right hand, pinning it between the tool and the tool rack. The man sustained an apparent severe laceration and possible fracture of one finger. He left the contaminated area, his protective clothing was removed, he was surveyed and found to be free of any detectable contamination, and he was transported by company vehicle to Hershey Medical Center for treatment.
