CP-87-98 (INTERIM REPORT) i l
Gentlemen:
l
~On September 9, 1987, we verbally notified your Mr. H. S. Phillips of'a deficiency involving review of. the cable and raceway data system (CARDS) which indicates that the wrong cable diameter may have been used in calculations.
Specifically, CARDS 2323-El-1700 and 2323-E2-1700 use the nominal (versus maximum) cable dianader for calculating raceway fill.
This issue was identified during investigations initiated under the Corrective Actien Program (CAP).
This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).
Currently, we are developing our evaluation to assess the impact of the 1
application of nominal as opposed to the maximum allowed cable outside diameter. Our next report on this issue will be submitted no later than November 20, 1987.
Very truly yours, Zb?'
