Dear NRC Commissioners:
After the public meeting on 10/15/2020 I was impressed by many of the participants, while dismayed by the limitations placed on scope. In the interest of clarity, fairness and inclusion, I present the following recommendations for your consideration:
A decision of No Action on the November 3, 2020 deadline.
If the above is not a possibility, then public meetings should be extended and expanded, following the remission of the Covid-19 pandemic. All communities impacted by the transportation of high level nuclear waste through their communities must be allowed an in person public meeting. Just as Andrews, Texas can not give permission for this storage in my area, nor can West Texas do that for the entire nation.
The Environmental Impact Study is not adequate. Transportation, water and geology need to be discussed in greater depth.
The decision you face is too big and too important to not give it the added attention needed for our nation.
Thank you, Alynda Best
