This is a Comment-Gathering Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is for NRC staff to meet directly with individuals to receive comments from participants on specific NRC decisions and actions to ensure that NRC staff understands their views and concerns.
Purpose:
The NRC staff is hosting another webinar to provide an opportunity for external stakeholders and the NRC staff to exchange information on the NRCs development of Part 53 preliminary proposed rule language for advanced nuclear reactors.
The NRC staff will have a discussion on changes to previously released Part 53 preliminary proposed rule language for Subparts B, Technology-Inclusive Safety Requirements, and C, Design and Analysis Requirements. This document is available in ADAMS under accession number ML21083A031.
The NRC staff will discuss Part 53 preliminary proposed rule language for Subpart E, Construction and Manufacturing, which is available in the NRC ADAMS as a Discussion Table. This document is available in ADAMS under accession number ML21042B855.

The NRC staff will discuss the NRC White Paper Risk-Informed and Performance-Based Human-System Considerations for Advanced Reactors, dated March 2021. Document is available in ADAMS under accession No. ML21069A003. The NRC staff will discuss the development of key guidance that will support the Part 53 rulemaking.
This meeting provides an opportunity for the NRC staff to hear insights and answer questions from the public about the Part 53 rulemaking effort. Attendees are strongly encouraged to read the revised preliminary proposed rule language for Subparts B and C, the Subpart E preliminary rule language, and the White Paper available on www.regulations.gov using Docket ID NRC-2019-0062 or in ADAMS, prior to the meeting. No regulatory decisions will be made during the meeting.
