SUBJECT:
STAFF REQUIREMENTS - BRIEFING ON EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY, AFFIRMATIVE EMPLOYMENT, AND SMALL BUSINESS On December 14, 2023, the Commission was briefed by the NRC staff on the agencys equal employment opportunity (EEO), affirmative employment, and small business programs. Topics included an overview of EEO, equal opportunity (EO), and NRC small business program; an overview of NRCs diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) initiatives and minority serving institutions grants program; an update on regional initiatives related to EEO, EO, and DEIA; recruiting, retaining, and developing a diverse workforce; and a joint statement of the EEO Advisory Committees. The Commission was also addressed by a representative of National Treasury Employees Union Chapter 208.
The meeting, which was held in the Commissioners Hearing Room, One White Flint North, Rockville, Maryland at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time, was open to members of the public attending in person and via webcast.
The Commission identified no requirements for staff action.
