| Event Description | The following information was provided by the licensee via phone and email:
At approximately 1417 CST, Callaway plant security observed a small aircraft circling the Callaway plant. Based on the plane circling the plant 8 times, the plane was considered suspicious. At approximately 1445, the security shift supervisor contacted the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the [Missouri] State Highway Patrol regarding the suspicious aircraft. The State Highway Patrol was able to work through the FAA office (Springfield, MO) to identify the plane and pilot, and confirm that there was no threat to the Callaway plant. This notification is being made pursuant to 10 CFR 50.72(b)(2)(xi) to report an event involving notification of another government agency. The NRC resident inspector was notified. |
