NRC/NNEPA 6/25 call summary Date: Saturday, June 26, 2021 10:27:00 AM

Hi all,

Below is summary of our call 6/25, please let me know if I missed something or captured something incorrectly.

Participants:

NRC: Ashley Waldron, Christine Pineda, Sandra Talley NNEPA: Lee Anna Martinez, Dawn Begay, Dariel Yazzie

-NRC noted that the official DEIS comment period will close on Monday, November 1, 2021.

-NRC will air radio broadcasts starting in July on KTTN and KGAK (in English and Dine), in the meantime NNEPA will review broadcasts (see next bullet)

-NNEPA suggested revising the introduction of the radio scripts to including identifying who the Navajo speaker is and where they are from; identifying key terms and describing them at the beginning of the broadcast (assistance from NNEPA)

-NNEPA suggested we announce on KWRK 96.1 (KTTNs sister station) - that radio broadcasts will air on KTTN

-NRC going to look into posting additional information in the Navajo Times and Gallup Independent (e.g. written scripts of the radio broadcasts or at a minimum rerun what was previously in Gallup Independent)

-NRC to determine what support is needed from Lille Lane - once identified NRC will put in writing (via email to D. Yazzie)

-NRC has started to reaching out to chapter houses to see if able to support in-person meetings. Standing Rock, Church Rock, Pinedale chapters either dont have sufficient facility or not renting due to COVID, awaiting response from Coyote Canyon

-NNEPA suggested NRC check into internet capability at chapter houses, could have limitations

-NRC plans to call into chapter planning meetings - to see if we can get on agenda for a regular chapter meeting

-NN has limitation on # of people that can gather (current guidelines-no more than 25 people can gather inside)

-NNEPA mentioned that Gallup will fully reopen next week? - could use a facility in Gallup as another option for an in-person meeting

Our next call is scheduled for Friday, July 9, 2021.

Thank you,

Ashley Waldron Environmental Project Manager NMSS/REFS/ERMB U.S. NRC 301-415-7317
