The Pennsylvania State University College of Engineering Radiation Science and Engineering Center Phone: 814-865-6351 Breazeale Nuclear Reactor Fax: 814-863-4840 University Park, PA 16802-2301 9 June 2023 US NRC Washington, DC 20555-0001 To Whom It May Concern, The Breazeale Reactor Technical Specifications Chapter 6.1.1 designates the Senior Vice President for Research as the Level 1 administrator for the license, with responsibility for the facility license. Chapter 6.6.2 requires a special report to be sent to the NRC following permanent changes to Level 1 or Level 2 personnel.
Please be advised therefore that Dr. Lora Weiss, Senior Vice President for Research at Pennsylvania State University, is leaving for a two-year appointment as the CHIPS R&D Director for the US Department of Commerce. Dr. Andrew Read, Director of the Huck Institute of the Life Sciences, will be her interim replacement. As such, Dr. Read will be the interim Level 1 administrator of the Breazeale Reactor license (R-2). While this change is not technically permanent, it is of sufficient duration to warrant a courtesy notification.
This change is effective as of 7/1/2023.
