STATUS OF RECOMMENDATION: AUDIT OF NRCS PMDA AND DRMA FUNCTIONS TO IDENTIFY PROGRAM EFFICIENCIES (OIG-17-A-18)

REFERENCE:

OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR OPERATIONS MEMORANDUM DATED FEBRUARY 5, 2021 Attached is the Office of the Inspector Generals (OIG) analysis and status of the recommendation as discussed in the agencys response dated February 5, 2021. Based on this response, the recommendation remains open and resolved. Please provide a status update on the resolved recommendation by April 29, 2021.

Audit Report AUDIT OF NRCS PMDA AND DRMA FUNCTIONS TO IDENTIFY PROGRAM EFFICIENCIES OIG-17-A-18 Status of Recommendation Recommendation 1: Complete implementation of all Mission Support Task Force recommendations that may assist in optimizing the use of resources and result in improving standardization and centralization throughout the agency.

Agency Response Dated February 5, 2021: Since our July 13, 2020 report, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has closed recommendation 16. Recommendation 21, related to fully implementing the use of the Federal Personnel/Payroll System, remains open.

OIG Analysis: The proposed action meets the intent of the recommendation.

Closure of OIGs recommendation is contingent on the agency efforts to complete implementation of the 27 recommendations made by the Mission Support Task Force. Based on this response, recommendation 16 is now closed. The agency has completed action on Mission Support Task Force recommendations 1-20 and 22-27. Recommendation 21 remains open.
