Gentlemen:

SUBJECT: INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-160/85-03 AND 50-276/85-02

Our letter dated January 9,1986, in response to your letter of December 9,1985,

stated that your response to the Notice of Violation enclosed with the above

report was under review and that you would be notified of the results of this

review at a later date.

In response to Violation 1, concerning sampling for liquid effluent releases, we

have reviewed the steps you have taken to correct this violation and will examine e

the implementation of your corrective actions during future in:pections.

With regard to Violation 2, subpart a, we agree with your position and have

deleted the subpart from our records.

Violation 2, subparts b, c and d were not addressed in your December 9,1985,

response. Therefore, in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 2.201,

please submit to this office within 30 days of the date of this letter, a written

statement which includes admission or denial of subparts b, c and d of the

alleged violation, the reason for the violation, if admitted, the corrective

steps which have been taken and the results achieved, corrective steps which

will be taken to avoid further violations, and the date when full compliance

will be achieved.

The responses directed by this letter and the enclosure are not subject to the

clearance procedures of the Office of Management and Budget issued under the

Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980, PL 96-511.

We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
