January 4, 2021 Mr. Robert Swartz Acting Policy Director Office of Nonproliferation and Arms Control National Nuclear Security Administration U.S. Department of Energy 1000 Independence Avenue, S.W.

Washington, D.C. 20585 Mr. Robert Swartz:

Enclosed is an application (XSOU8787/06), dated September 1 2020, received by the U.S.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), from URENCO, Inc., for the export of 72,000,000 kilograms (kg) of natural uranium in the form of uranium hexafluoride (UF6) to URENCO facilities for enrichment and return to the U.S. for ultimate use as fuel in nuclear power reactors.

The purpose of this amendment is to extend the date of expiration from December 31, 2020 to December 31, 2023.

Since only the extension of the expiration date of the existing license is being requested, our office is processing this as a minor amendment. The NRC intends to issue the requested license after the 30-day time period allotted for public review has expired, and it is determined that applicable export license criteria are met.

Sincerely, 1/4/2021 X Peter J. Habighorst Peter J. Habighorst Signed by: Peter J. Habighorst Peter J. Habighorst, Chief Export Controls and Nonproliferation Branch Office of International Programs cc w/enclosures:
