~Your Quality Assurance Program A) proval No. 0749 is hereby terminated. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission pu)lished a final rule, effective June 27, 1997.
revising:the requirements of'10 CFR Part 34. " Licenses for Industrial Radiography and Radiation Safety Requirements for-Industrial Radiographic ,
Operations." The revision, which contained numerous changes in the reauirenents. -also modified the quality assurance (0A) requirements for-transportation. As a result of these changes, a separate NRC OA program approval is no longer needed.
Specifically, transportation activities are now contained in a 'new paragraph.
10 CFR 71.101(g). This provision was added to the regulations and requires
-that inspection and maintenance )rograms limited to radiographic exposure devices, source changers, or paccages transporting these devices and meeting .
the orovisions of 10 CFR Part 34.31(b). or equivalent Agreement State.
