PROPOSED RULE, REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTAIN GENERALLY LICENSED INDUSTRIAL DEVICES CONTAINING BYPRODUCT MATERIAL ,10 CFR PARTS 30,31,32,170, AND 171 The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OClO) has reviewed the subject proposed rule and concurs in it. However, because the rule will amend information collection requirements, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) review is required. Please forward a copy of the rule and the OMB clearance package, including the NRC Form XXX, " Transfers of Industrial Devices Report," in sufficient time for 0C10 review and submital to OMB no later than the date the proposed rule is submitted to the FederalRegisterfor publication. Please contact Beverly Martin at 415-5877 or e-mail BAM1 for design and assignment of a form number. Also modify the Paperwork Reduction Act Statement (PRAS) and the Public Protection Notification on page 24 as annotated on Attachment 1.

This rule has been submitted to the Office of Management and Budget for review and approval of the information collection requirements.

The public reporting burden for this information collection is estimated to average 4 minutes per response, including the time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the information collection. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission is seeking public comment on the potential impact of the information collections contained in the

- 3. Is there a way to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be collected?
- 4. How can the burden of the information collection be minimized, including the use of
