Dear Mr. Anderson:
I am writing this letter to thank you for your invitation to the pre-operational review for the Riverton, Wyoming remedial action. I have discussed NRC participation in these types of meetings with Dale Smith, Director of the NRC Uranium Recovery Field Office, and we feel that NRC participation would not be advantageous in light of available staff resources.
However, should relevant topics specifically impacting NRC's UMTRA involvement arise in future pre-operational reviews, NRC would consider participating. In any case, it would be appreciated if you could provide any writter, summary or meeting notes resulting from such a review for our information.
