The NRC is responsible to inspect nuclear power plants.

Types of inspections

  • Regular Inspection - periodic and expected
Resident inspection - continuous done by site NRC resident inspector
  • Elevated Inspection - Response to "white" findings or performance indicators
  • Temporary Inspection - Topical inspections; usually based on new program implementation. one time
  • Reactive Inspection - Immediate response to a specific event
