- 1. Question: Have there been any irradiators built'in your region since January of 19867 .g
~ Answer: No irradiators under NRC jurisdiction have been built in NRC Region V.since 1986.
2., Question: Do you know of any applications, pending applications or interest in license applications that may be' filed in the'.
future?
Answer: The State of Hawaii has been considering the possibility of constructing:an irradiator to treat fruits, vegetables and other food products.
