l Supplementary Information In an effort to accommodate Agreement State interest in listening to the subject NRC Commission briefing, the NRC Office of State Programs has made the

following arrangements in coordination with the Offices of the Secretary and Chief Information Officer. ,

Each Agreement State should notify Rosetta Virgilio, NRC Office of State Programs, of your l State's interest in participating in the ' subject telecon by providing her with a designated State contact name and most direct telephone number by no later than COB March 25,1998.

301/415-3502. Note, while' Ms. Virgilio is out of the office the week of March 30, Kathaleen Kerr'will be the conference contact. Ms. Kerr can be reached at 301/415-3340, via e-mail at kjk@nrc.gok or by. fax 'at 301/415-3502.

Approximately 30 minutes prior to the March 31,1998,3:00 p.m. EST Organization of Agreement States (OAS) and NRC Staff Commission Briefing, a FTS 2000 Conference Attendant will telephone the designated State contact to link him/her to the Commission briefing telecon. it is imperative that the designated State contact be committed and available to receive the incoming call during this appointed timeframe; otherwise, the State may be omitted from the l telecon linkup altogether.' j lt is suggested that if more than one State member is interested in listening to the Commission briefing, that the State make arrangements to use a single speaker telephone to accommodate such interest. SP 017 2 W 151998 the telecon are welcomed to announce their name and State. Once the FTS 2000 Conference Attendant has established telecon linkup, however, those States who are not actively participating in the Commission briefing should engage the speaker telephone mute function.

This will greatly eliminate background noise and facilitate sidebar discussions by remote participants during the briefing.

If you experience any difficulties in getting tied into the telecon the afternoon of March 31, please call 1/800-545 4387 and provide the attendant with the conference ID #R61541. Also, please provide constructive feedback to Ms. Virgilio following the telecon.
