DATE: April 16,1998 NOTE TO: Mirtone, A Unit of General Signal LTD 96-44 FROM: Eric Compton, Engineering Aide A, Materials Safety Branch l Mirtone originally distributed the devices out of Tonawanda, New York. On January 18,1990 their distribution license was terminated when they moved their facility from New York to The Edwards Company, Inc. in Pittsfield, ME. A new distribution license was issued to Mirtone in t care of The Edwards Company on A,ril 4,1990. This warehouse facility served as a new point of distribution until this licensed .vas terminated on February 24,1995.
Mirtone is no longer authorized to distribute the Model 73470U smoke detector. As of February 16,1995, The Edwards Company, Inc. no longer possesses this model device at the their facility in Maine.
NOTE: A Mirtone Industries Inc.'s letter dated August 15,1988, could not be located in our background files nor NUDOCS.

In addition, NR-0463-D-801-E has been reissued as NR-8073-D-801-E to reflect inactive vendor status.
