Revised Submittal of Technical Specification Amendmem Reauest for Normal Suporession Pool Temocrature in references (a) and (b), Vermont ' Yankee indicated that a proposed Technical Specification (TS) amendment request would be submitted to modify the suppression pool normal operating temperature limit. We have found in our preparation of this submittal some potentially non-conservative values and new inputs that were not previously cor sidered in our analyses. This was appropriately reported on January 7,1998 in accordance with 10CFR50.72.

Our corrective action process has been implemented in response to these issues and additional conservative opereting limits have been established to ensure the plant is not operated outside of the design bases The corrective action process, including investigation and resolution of these issues necessitates that we postpone submittal of the proposed iicense amendment, We willinform you of a new schedule to submit the proposed change when we have firmly established our action plan.

Should you have any questions or concerns with this change in schedule, please contact us.

Sincerely, VERMONT YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER CORPORATION s.-

4 Donald A. Reid  !
