INSPECTION NO 070-00026/97-001
Dear Mr. Nardi:
On July 23 24 and December 15,1997, Mark Roberts of this office conducted a safety inspection at the Westinghouse Specialty Metals Plant in Blairsville, Per.nsylvania. The inspection was limited to a review of remediation activities in progress at the facility. A copy of the NRC inspection report is enclosed. The findings of the inspecthn were discussed with Irwin Dobrushin, you, and members of the technical staff at the conclusion of the Inspection. Roy Woods from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Environmental Protection was present on July 23 and 24.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified.
in accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the Public Document Room. No reply to this letter is required.
