A routine safety _ inspection was conducted on May 7-9, 1985, of the

Breazeale Nuclear Reactor Health Physics and Radiological Controls programs.

Areas that were reviewed included posting, instrument calibration, surveys,

dosimetry, and radiological controls used during experimentation.

No violations were identified during the course of this inspection. You are

requested to submit the results of your analysis of the reactor bridge area

radiation monitor performance, as discussed in Section 5.0 of the enclosed

Inspection Report No. 50-05/85-01. Your reply should detail the instrument

accuracy, reliability, and any changes in the instrument calibration

procedures.
