Dear Mr. Markwell:
This letter is in response to yo'ur request for registration of the Model SN I
, Series and PL Series smoke detectors. We are in the process of evaluating your request. However, in order to continue our evaluation, the following ;
information is necessary:
p 1. Please submit complete engineering drawings of the button and ion chamber designs. These drawings should include all materials of )
construction, dimensions, and methods of' fabrication. Two or more models can be exactly the same with the different model numbers indicating different redistributors. If this is the case, indicate this i and submit only one set of drawings. You must still indicate or send j drawings of any differences in the labeling. Only one set of drawings is needed for each series with a list of differences between the models I in that series (e.g. light, horn, etc.) as long as the construction l details are the same, including basic size of the circuit boards. )
. Please provide detailed drawingy, including dimensions, which illustrate how the ionization chamber is robunted to the circuit board, and how the ,
circuit,bprdissecuredwithinthesmokedetectorbase, j 4,43. Please provide drawings of the detector labeling and point-of-sale l labeling. Please indicate materials of construction and method of attacnment of the labels.
b y 4. The information concerning quality control procedures included in your July 12, 1995 letter was unclear. Please specify who you intend to perform each of the required samplings, and clearly indicate whether the company is located within the United States. Please be aware that the sampling required to be performed by the distributor must be performed I within the United States.
