NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 999 90002/96 06
Dear Dr. May:
On October 2,1996, the NRC completed an inspection at the Dublin Animal Hospital in Dublin, Virginia. The enclosed re) ort presents the results of that inspection, which were discussed with mem)ers of your staff on October 2, 1996 following the inspection.
The purpose of the inspection was to review the circumstances surrounding the discovery of licensed radioactive materials at your facility and to ensure that the materials was in safe and secure storage. The inspection included observations by the inspector and interviews with members of the Dublin Animal Hospital staff. No violations were observed.
We are reviewing the options available for removal and proper disposal of the source. We will advise you of these options as quickly as possible.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice." a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
