Dear Sir:
i The Authority outlined in References 1 and 2 an anticipated schedule for providing an operational dose assessment system.
That schedule contained two milestones. Milestone 1 consisted of providing the operational hardware and completing a study to determine an inland pole location by September 30, 1982. Milestone 2 con-sisted of providing an operational site specific modeling system,
! including data from the inland pole, by January 1, 1983. Reference 2 indicated that an interim dose assessment model, operated at an offsite location, would be used until the site specific system became available.
Niagara Mohawk, with whom the Authority is sharing this system, I has encountered delays in obtaining design information from their
! equipment vendor, necessitating the need to revise the above mentioned implementation schedule. The revised schedule is as follows: by March 1, 1983 hardware and software, (with the exception of the in-
. land pole and its associated equipment) will be operational. The l inland pole and associated equipment will be installed and operational by July 1, 1983. Niagara Mohawk and the Authority will continue to use the interim dose assessment system until March 1, 1983.

A detailed description of the model used will be provided to you by September 1, 1982 in accordance with the recommendations of Appendix 2 to NUREG-0654.
