WAIVER REQUEST AND NOTIFICATIOP OF INITED CINGDOA CITIZENS AS SRO CANDIDATES The purpose of this letter is to notify you of our intent to place two AmerGen Energy Company LLC (AmerGen) employees with United Kingdom citizenship into the Senior Reactor Operator license class that will be taking the NRC licensing examination in February of 2003.

Mr.l . has 12 years of experience in the nuclear industry of the United Kingdom including over ten years in authorized (licensed) supervisory and operator positions.

This experience included holding Duly Authorized (license equivalent) positions at the Hinkley Point B Nuclear Power Station (gas cooled reactor) and the Sizewell B Nuclear Power Station (pressurized water reactor). In addition, Mr. sewed as a Reactor Engineer at the Hinkley B station and as a classroom and simulator instructor at the Sizewell B station. Mr.

earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics at the University of Liverpool. Mr.

will have completed six months of on site experience prior to entering the training program and will complete the TMI Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) program prior to sitting for the NRC Senior Reactor Operator licensing examination.

Mr. has fourteen years experience in the nuclear power industry of the United Kingdom incfuding nine years of on shift operations. This experience inctuded holding Duly Authorized (license equivalent) supervisory and operator positions at the Heysham 2 Power Station (advanced gas cooled reactor). In addition, Mr. served as a classroom and simulator instructor at the Heysham station and was an Assistant Engineer Electrical Maintenance at the Dungeness B Power station (gas cooled reactor). Mr. earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in ElectromechanicalEngineering at the University of Aston.

Mr. will have three months of on site experience prior to entering the training Program at TMI. AmerGen is requesting a waiver of the sequencing of the six months on site time as noted in NUREG-1021 Rev. 8, Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors, Section ES-202, Preparing and Reviewing Operator Licensing Applications. The request is to allow Mr. to complete TMls SAT based Senior Reactor Operator Training Program, including the NRC license examination on February 2003, followed by the remainder of the six months on site time. Assuming successful completion of the NRC license examination, Mr.

license issuance would follow completion of the six months on site time.
