( II. LASALLE COUNTY STATION: UNIT 1 Ill. DOCKET NUMBER:

050-373 IV. EVENT DESCRIPTION Technical Specification 3 3.7.10 requi res the Lake Blowdown Flow Instrument to be operable. On May 18, 1982, LOS-WL-Q1, Lake Blowdown Flow Indicator Quarterly Channel Functional Test was performed. During this surveillance the Lake Blowdown Flow Instrument was tested and found to be inoperable.

V. PROBABLE CONSEQUENCES OF THE OCCURRENCE At the time of this event, LaSalle Unit One was in cold shutdown and there was no irradiated fuel on site. The probabili ty of any radioactive releases to the river at this time was negligible.

VI. CAUSE

~

The cause of this occurrence was that the transmitter falIed. The trans-

  • mitter was nunufactured by Rosemont, Model 1151DP.

Vll. CORRECTIVE ACTION The Radwaste Discharge Valve had been taken out of service closed on April 19 to preclude possible release of radioactive liquids to the lake blowdown line.

The transmi tter has been replaced and the required- loop check was performed.
