UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 November 15, 2019 Mr. Kevin Schehr President and Radiation Safety Officer ISOFLEX Radioactive 108 Teal Street St. Rose, LA 70087

SUBJECT:

U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION INSPECTION REPORT

Dear Mr. Schehr:

On September 26, 2019, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a performance-based inspection of ISOFLEX Radioactive (ISOFLEX), located in St. Rose, Louisiana.

The purpose of this inspection was to assess whether imports and exports were conducted in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR). Specifically, this performance-based inspection examined the adequacy of measures taken by the licensee to ensure effective recordkeeping is being performed and procedural controls are in place and that both are being fully implemented.

The enclosed report presents the results of the inspection, which were discussed with you and your staff during an exit meeting held at the conclusion of the inspection on September 26, 2019.

Areas examined during the inspection include organization and scope of program, import, export and inventory control of sealed sources, and files management.

Based on the results of the inspection, the NRC determined that exports were conducted in accordance with 10 CFR Part 110 regulations. Specifically, this inspection confirmed that sufficient management recordkeeping and procedural controls are in place to ensure that export and import activities are being conducted in accordance with the requirements contained in 10 CFR Part 110 and in conformance with the terms and conditions of the general license for imports and ISOFLEXs four specific licenses.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Stephen Baker at 301-287-9059.

Sincerely,

/RA/
