REQUEST FOR EXEMPTION FROM SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF 10 CFR PART 73 - ACCEPTED FOR REVIEW (TAC NO. L24500)

Dear Mr. Mitchell:

By letter dated November 30, 2010, Yankee Atomic Electric Company (YAEC) submitted a response to the Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRCs) letter of August 2, 2010, Applicability of the Revised 10 CFR 73.55 Rule to the Yankee Atomic Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation, and requested an exemption from specific requirements of 10 CFR 73.55.

The staff has reviewed your letter and has determined that it provides sufficient information to proceed with its detailed evaluation. Please reference TAC No. L24500 in all future correspondence.
