"Fort Calhoun Station Unit No.1, Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) Cask Registration," dated August 11, 2006 (LlC 06-0093) (ML062260095)

SUBJECT:

Fort Calhoun Station (FCS), Unit No.1, 10 CFR 72.48 Evaluation Summary Reports for July 21,2006, through July 22, 2010 On July 21, 2006, the Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) approved Revision 0 of the 10 CFR 72.212 Evaluation Report (Reference 3) and on July 29, 2006, the first storage of spent fuel under the general license occurred (Reference 4).

10 CFR 72.48(d)(2) requires each licensee and certificate holder to submit a report conta.ining a brief description of any changes, tests, and experiments, including a summary of the evaluation of each at intervals not to exceed 24 mOl1ths.

However, due to all oversight in capturing the 10 CFR 72.48(d)(2) reporting requirement in FCS procedures and the FCS commitment tracking system, the required reports were not submitted at the proper time. This issue has been entered into the FCS corrective action program (Condition Report 2010-2528).

Thus far, OPPD (the I'icensee), has not performed any changes, tests, or experiments that resu'lted in a 10 CFR 72.48 evaluation. Nevertheless, to comply with the reporting requirement of 10 CFR 72.48(d)(2), two 10 CFR 72.48 Evaluation Summary Reports Employment with Equal Opportunity

U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission L IC-1 0-0058 Page 2 are attached. The first report encompasses the period of July 21, 2006, through July 21, 2008. The second report encompasses the period of July 22, 2008, through July 22,2010.

This reporting requirement is now tracked by the FCS commitment tracking system and procedure revisions are in process.

No commitments to the NRC are made in this letter.

If you should have any questions, please contact Mr. Teddy Hutchinson at (402) 533 7380.
