Peach Bottom Task Interface Agreement (TIA) Review Attachments: Peach Bottom TIA 2011-004_Draft for licensee review.docx

Dear Mr. Armstrong,

As you are aware, the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) has been assisting the Region I Office in reviewing Peach Bottoms Operability Determination 10-007 related to Boraflex degradation in the spent fuel pools. This review has been coordinated using the NRCs Task Interface Agreement (TIA) process and NRR has completed the draft TIA. Pursuant to Section 2.390 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), we believe that the attached draft TIA may contain proprietary information. However, we have not marked the specific proprietary information and are providing you with the opportunity to comment on the proprietary aspects. If you believe that any information in the attachment is proprietary, please identify such information line-by-line and provide the reference for the docketed information previously submitted to the NRC as proprietary pursuant to the criteria of 10 CFR 2.390.

The attached TIA is also provided to ensure that NRR considered all relevant information available to the staff as of April 1, 2011, and that there are no factual errors. This date was chosen to allow the staff to review all licensee documents up to a reasonable point that support PBAPSs operability determination. The NRR staff is aware that PBAPS has prepared additional documentation, but to support the Region I Offices request for a timely review, the NRR staff chose not to delay this draft TIA response.

Five working days are provided for you to comment on the proprietary aspects of the TIA, to bring to our attention any relevant information that was available prior to April 1, 2011, that the NRR staff may not have considered, and to identify any factual errors you believe the draft TIA may contain. Once you have completed these reviews, the NRR staff will be available to conduct a conference call to ensure a clear and mutual understanding of the content in the TIA.

The final TIA will then be issued and a non-proprietary version will be made publicly available.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Regards, Barry Miller Senior Project Manager (TIA Program Manager)
