UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 March 9, 2018 ALL AGREEMENT AND NON-AGREEMENT STATES STATE LIAISON OFFICERS NOTICE OF ANNUAL ORGANIZATION OF AGREEMENT STATES AND CONFERENCE OF RADIATION CONTROL PROGRAM DIRECTORS COMMISSION BRIEFING (STC-18-019)
Purpose: To provide notice of the Annual Organization of Agreement States (OAS) and Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD) Commission briefing to be held at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Headquarters, Commissioners Conference Room, located in the One White Flint North Building, Rockville, Maryland, on June 21, 2018, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm EST.
Background:
The Annual OAS/CRCPD Commission briefing provides an opportunity for the OAS and CRCPD Executive Boards to inform the Commission of radioactive materials policy and regulatory issues of mutual interest. The Annual OAS/CRCPD Commission briefing originated from a routine annual letter that was presented to the Commission following the OAS Annual Meeting, discussing areas of concern between the Commission and the OAS. After several Commission briefings by the OAS, the CRCPD was invited to participate in the annual Commission briefing as the two organizations, OAS and CRCPD, developed a closer working relationship.
Discussion: The purpose of this briefing is to discuss, with the Commission, nuclear issues and activities, and to gain valuable perspective into each partys programs, policies and concerns. The participants of the briefing usually include the Chair, Chair-elect and past-Chair of the OAS and the CRCPD. The Annual OAS/CRCPD Commission briefing is a public meeting. The meeting will also be accessible for viewing at http://www.nrc.gov/public-involve/public-meetings/webcast-live.html.
Viewers are encouraged to visit the site in advance of the scheduled day of the briefing to verify that their computer system contains the appropriate software for viewing the briefing. The Web site contains information on the software necessary for viewing and where to obtain system upgrades to allow webcast viewing. Please inform the point-of-contact listed below by May 31, 2018, if you wish to attend.
