TELECONFERENCE WITH STAKEHOLDERS WITH AN INTEREST IN GUIDANCE RELATED TO EXTENDED STORAGE OF LOW-LEVEL RADIOACTIVE WASTE DATE & TIME: Tuesday, January 18, 2011 10:30 a.m - 12 noon LOCATION: Interested members of the public can participate in this meeting via a toll-free audio teleconference. For details, please call the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) meeting contact listed on the NRC web site or call the NRC operator (toll free 1 (800) 368-5642) and ask to be connected to the meeting contact (James Shaffner).
PURPOSE: This is a scheduled meeting of an NRC working group that was convened in order to allow subject matter experts and stakeholders an opportunity to review and assess the adequacy of NRC guidance related to extended storage of LLRW by all types of licensees. The primary focus of this meeting will be the proposed contents of a draft Regulatory Issue Summary, the purpose of which is to provide licensees with the most current citations of guidance relevant to extended storage of LLRW.
CATEGORY: This is a Category 1 meeting. The public is invited to observe the meeting, and will have an opportunity to communicate with the NRC after the business portion of the meeting, but before the meeting is adjourned.
