[External_Sender] NRC Indian Point A nnual Assessment Meeting on June 8, 2016Gentlemen:
I plan to speak and ask a few questions during the NRC's Annual Assessment meeting. In the past, I usually received responses such as "We will get back to you." In order to avoid this I would appreciate the NRC be prepared to provide responses to th e following questions which can be answered with a simple "Yes" or "No" answer. Please be prepared to respond to these questions during the annual assessment meeting with definitive answers.
- 1. Has the buried portion of the gas lines been analyzed by the licensee for potential impact on Indian Point? Please provide reference ML#.
- 2. Have the "fuel oil storage tanks" been veri fied to be free of flammable content?
- 3. Have the plant operators and the fire brigade been properly trained to co mbat a gas leak or explosion of the gas lines that are located with in 400 feet of the Unit #3 control and switchgear rooms? Please note this is a requirement of both 10 CFR 50 and 49 CFR 192.
Additionally, I would appreciate a brief discussion of the recent identification of additional failed baffle bolts including possible need for supplementa l LER and root cause analysis and a ssurance that there are no additional failed baffle bolts.
I believe that the Senior Re sident Inspector, the person closest to th ese issues, would be the best qualified person to respond to these simple and direct questions.
