i Hopefully you are still handling TMI ete? ,
As you may be aware there wa's a recent " alert" at TMI 4 hat could have been very, servious. The instrumentation registered a dangerous build-gp of hydrogen' gas in the crippled reactor building. The flash point for hydrogen is very low and there were fears that this could literally be a hydrogen bomb with a nuclear war-head, in effect. Supposedly, "they" are now bla' ming this on a radio signal and caused the recordings that were faulty, etc., etc. Iastly, Commission Dhmn. made.an on-site visit yesterday for whatever reason, but 1,he media has little or nothing to report on his visit re this latest alert. - which really was flubbed up- those of us up l
here really.did not know of any difficulty until the 6:00 news, ow Mrs. Parsons has these questions (based on the background above):
- l. Why has there been no' public comment from the NRC on this near mishap? l l
- 2. Why was the'emerrency management system, supposedly now in place, in-operative? !
l
- 3. How were the rases purged or oxidized? Any radioactive' releases?
- b. Is all this due to more faulty equipmot? Is there some sort of approval system for equipment that will be used in nuclear facilities?? .
