STA F REQUIREMENTS - COMSECY-96-043 - RESULTS OF A SIX-MONTH TRIAL PROGRAM ON VOLUNTARY i REPORTING BY AGREEMENT STATES UNDER REVISED '
REPORTING GUIDANCE AND AN ENHANCED DATA COLLECTION The Commission has approved the staff's recommendation to continue the practice of voluntary event reporting by Agreement States and to report back to the Commission in May 1997. The May 1997 report should specifically address options for the Commission if voluntary reporting continues to show limited success.
CED&) (SECY Suspense: 5/30/97) 9400193 SP The Commission encouraged the staff to implement the final Windows version of the Nuclear Materials Event Database and provide it to Agreement States as soon as possible. The staff should aggressively continue to pursue measures to improva voluntary event reporting between now and May 1997.
