Michele Sampson, Director Division of Engineering Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research.
Ms. Sampson joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 2007, and has held a number of positions including Senior Project Manager, Thermal and Containment Branch Chief, and Licensing Branch Chief in the Division of Spent Fuel Management in the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards, Executive Technical Assistant in the Office of the Executive Director for Operations, Chief of the Reactor Security Branch and Acting Chief, Cyber Security Branch in the Division of Physical and Cyber Security Policy, and Deputy Director and Temporary Director, Division of Physical and Cyber Security Policy, in the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response. She also completed a temporary assignment as Deputy Budget Director in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Sampson most recently served as the Deputy Director, Division for Engineering and External Hazards, in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation.
Prior to joining the NRC, Ms. Sampson worked at the Department of Transportation and at USECs Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant. Ms. Sampson received her B.S.
degree in Transportation and Logistics from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and an MBA from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. She is a graduate of the NRCs Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program.
