Dear Mr. Caldwell:

DRMA Enclosed is a copy of the final report for the November 18-19,1998, li&fooland

  • medical drills of the offsite radiological emergency response plans site-specific to the Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region Vil staff prepared the report. A copy of the final report will be provided to the State of Iowa by the FEMA Region Vil staff.

There were no Deficiencies identified during this drill. There were 5 Areas Requiring Corrective Action (ARCAs) identified during this drill that were corrected by on-scene training and redemonstration. All 5 ARCAs are now closed.

The November 18-19,1998, school and medical drills evaluated the offsite radiological emergency response plans and preparedness for the State of Iowa and local jurisdictions, site-specific to Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station. Based on the results i

of these drills, the aforementioned plans can be implemented and are adequate to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken offsite to protect school children and provide transport and treatment of contaminated, injured, or exposed individuals.

i Should you have any questions, please contact Mr. Eric A. Jenkins, RAC Chairman and Chief, Training, Exercises, and Evaluation Branch, at (818) 283-7021.
