FORT CALHOUN STATION, UNIT NO. 1 - CLOSURE OF NRC GENERIC LETTER 2004-02 (CAC NO. MC4686)
Dear Mr. Marik:
By letter dated June 24, 2016 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML16176A213), Omaha Public Power District (OPPD, the licensee) provided a certification of permanent cessation of power operations to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for Fort Calhoun Station, Unit No. 1 (FCS). OPPD certified to the NRC that it plans to permanently cease power operations at FCS by December 31, 2016.
Based upon OPP D's letter, no additional action is requested for FCS for the following NRC generic communication:
NRC Generic Letter (GL) 2004-02, "Potential Impact of Debris Blockage on Emergency Recirculation during Design Basis Accidents at Pressurized-Water Reactors," dated September 13, 2004.
