On December 26, 2018, the NRC published a document in the Federal Register (83 FR 66079) confirming the effective date of January 22, 2019, for the direct final rule that was published in the Federal Register on November 7, 2018 (83 FR 55301 ). This direct final rule amended the NRC's spent fuel storage regulations by revising the "List of approved spent fuel storage casks" to include Renewed Amendment No. 15 to Certificate of Compliance No. 1004 for the TN Americas LLC Standardized NUHOMS Horizontal Modular Storage System (NUHOMS System). Because this amendment is subsequent to the renewal of the TN Americas LLC Standardized NU HOMS Certificate of Compliance No. 1004 system and, therefore , subject to the Aging Management Program requirements of the renewed certificate , it is referred to as "Renewed Amendment No. 15." The effective date of January 22, 2019, for the direct final rule published November 7, 2018, is confirmed.

List of Approved Spent Fuel Storage Casks: TN Americas LLC Standardized Advanced NU HOMS System, Certificate of Compliance No. 1029, Amendment No. 4; Direct Final Rule; 10 CFR Part 72 CRIN 3150-AK20:NRC-2018-AK20 On December 27, 2018, the NRC published a direct final rule in the Federal Register (83 FR 66585) amending its spent fuel storage regulations by revising the TN Americas LLC Standardized Advanced NUHOMS Horizontal Modular Storage System listing within the "List of approved spent fuel storage casks" to include Amendment No. 4 to Certificate of Compliance No. 1029. Amendment No. 4 revises the certificate of compliance's technical specifications relative to spent fuel pool availability, the installed temperature monitoring system, dose rates and criteria for performing visual vent inspections, identifying blocked vent time limitations for the 24PT1 and 24PT4 dry shielded canisters , and providing a new temperature rise value for a storage module 24PT4 dry shielded canister. The companion proposed rule was also published in the Federal Register on December 27, 2018 (83 FR 66644). This direct final rule is effective March 12, 2019, unless significant adverse comments are received by January 28, 2019.
