Dear Mr. Riley,
On behalf of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) I thank you for the submission of these documents for NRC review and endorsement. As you know, revision 1 of NEI 04-02 is endorsed, with exceptions, in Regulatory Guide (RG) 1.205, "Risk-Informed, Performance-Based Fire Protection for Existing Light-Water Nuclear Power Plants." We expect to review revision 2 to NEI 04-02 for endorsement, as appropriate, in RG 1.205, Revision 1. Our schedule will be defined in an update to the fire protection closure plan that will be made publicly available.
